iWave Software provides a platform to automatically remediate issues that occur within public and private cloud environments. Enterprise IT organizations and Service Providers alike use iWave Automator to implement self-healing cloud infrastructures.

While many organizations use event management systems to monitor and report on the health of their cloud environments, few have attempted to automate the remediation of issues detected in the infrastructure that supports their cloud environments.

iWave Automator works with an organization’s existing event management system to provide automated responses to network, storage, server and application events detected in the organization’s cloud infrastructure.

A typical iWave automated remediation workflow includes the following steps:

• An “event” is detected by an organization’s event management system.
• iWave Automator receives the event through one of its prebuilt event management adapters.
• iWave Automator opens up an incident for the event in the organization’s service desk. All subsequent automated activity is recorded in the service desk.
• iWave Automator checks the event with the organization’s CMDB, SLA database and knowledge databases to determine:
• The event’s criticality (how many users are impacted by the event)
• The event’s severity (whether response time is under an SLA)
• Whether there is a prescribed response for the event.
• If an automated remediation exists for the event, iWave will invoke the relevant remediation workflow. Administrators can optionally set an iWave policy to require system administrator approval prior to executing the remediation.
• Once the remediation is successfully completed, iWave Automator closes the incident in the IT service desk and acknowledges the event in the event management system.
