How is iWave Automator different from other IT process management or runbook automation solutions?
iWave Automator is a scalable, high-performance automation platform and framework that allows organizations to rapidly automate sophisticated IT management processes between disparate IT systems. It includes an easy-to-use integrated development environment, pre-built workflows (or accelerator), and a large number of ITIL-based adapters for third-party data center products.
What are the advantages of using iWave Automator over custom scripting, code, or third-party solutions?
Process automation implemented with iWave Automator is significantly easier to develop and maintain than custom scripting or code. The adapters to third-party solutions insulate the process design from versioning of the end-point products. Changes to the process flows are easily implemented through a graphical integrated development environment by IT process owners rather than having to rely on costly software developers or system integrators.
Is iWave Automator a business process management tool?
Yes. iWave Automator automates and integrates IT management processes and supports long running processes and people driven interrupts.
Can I run more than one accelerator process on a single instance of iWave Automator? Does iWave Automator support accelerators with more than two end points?
Yes, more than one accelerator (process template) can be deployed on a single Automator Server. iWave Automator accelerators can be very sophisticated and can include branching, looping, and multiple end points. Number of tools and sub process is unlimited. A current customer automated 26 steps across 18 unique tools.
Does iWave Automator work with custom or in-house built applications, or Administrator scripts?
Generic adapters are available for the following types of interfaces, making it simple to integrate with nearly any type of system that can generate events, expose data, or execute actions:

Yes, iWave Automator can be configured to meet the security, reliability, availability, and performance requirements of the most demanding enterprise IT environments.
Does iWave Automator provide process reporting, management dashboards, and analytics?
iWave Automator includes basic reporting and management capabilities out of the box, and an enterprise monitoring and reporting dashboard is available as an add-on option.
Does iWave Automator run on non-Windows platforms?
Yes. Most of the iWave Automator software components run on Windows, Linux, and the major UNIX distributions. Consult the iWave Automator datasheet for detailed operating system requirements.
