Powered by iWave Orchestrator, IFR allows IT organizations to meet ever-growing business demands without increasing staffing or sacrificing service levels. IFR allows IT departments to automate the routine and refocus resources to strategic projects.

The IFR Accelerator automates immediate response — without administrator involvement — to a wide array of network, server and application issues. The event, remediation response(s) and verification information is documented under a single incident within your IT service desk to ensure compliance to regulatory mandates and change management policies.

Below is an example of the typical IFR Accelerator’s response to a network outage:

  • Network, server and application events are detected by your Enterprise System Management application.
  • The event triggers the iWave Orchestrator IFR Accelerator (workflow).
  • Incoming events, including those that are superfluous, are filtered out.
  • A Service Desk Incident is created based on the root cause event.
  • IFR checks the event with your CMDB, SLA database and knowledge databases to determine:
    • the event’s criticality (how many users are impacted by the event).
    • the event’s severity (whether response time for the event is under an SLA).
    • whether there is a prescribed response for the event.
  • Corrective action through your network configuration management tool or stored scripts is triggered to remediate the issue or the Request for Change is updated with the remediation solution and marked “ready for approval”.
  • Once the remediation is successfully completed, iWave Orchestrator closes the Incident in the IT Service Desk and acknowledges the Event in the Event Management Systems.

IFR can fully automate the IT operational playbook for responding to network, server and application issues. For daily IT operations, IFR can automate routine administrator tasks including rotating service account password, restoring proper security configurations and provisioning virtual servers.
