Accelerators—Automated Workload Management

Workload Management

Today’s flexible infrastructure, primarily driven by network, storage and server virtualization, makes it possible to consolidate systems with the objective of increasing utilization and reducing cost. Virtualization makes it possible to consider scaling resources on demand to reflect usage changes throughout the day or other significant events. Virtualization solutions are limited in their ability to provide automated scaling especially when a cohesive effort is required to not only scale the server resources, but to also take into account the competing demands across an organization.

iWave’s Automated Workload Management (AWM) Accelerator, powered by iWave Orchestrator, provides a flexible, cohesive logic for scaling computing resource across the enterprise. AWM automates behavior modeling needed to meet today's complex Service Level Agreements. Sophisticated arbitration logic eliminates on-demand computing and finite resource pools conflicts. It ensures the most critical systems are not starved of resources during critical periods or when resource capacities are constrained.

AWM delivers unique capabilities to easily define your systems scaling processes – be they horizontal or vertical – and inter-system demand arbitration policies. Leveraging iWave Orchestrator’s Automation Studio, as well as a range of pre-built Automation Adapters, it is possible to ensure automated scaling is performed in accordance with corporate IT processes including RFC processing and CMDB reflection.
